Lucy Liu was born in the US. She is an American actress, a singer and voice-over artist. She is a beautiful and knowledgeable actor, she is an inspiration to numerous Asian actors who aspire to be successful in Hollywood. She gained fame after several popular roles in the series. For instance, in her role in the Ally McBeal series, where she portrayed Ling Woo the villainous character. In the wake of a rapid rise in popularity, the actress got roles on the big screen like Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. She delivered a stunning performance as Japanese gangster O-Ren Ishii (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. At the same time her role as a leading lady in flops of the box office like Rise: Blood Hunter were also prominent. In animated movies such as Kung Fu Panda, Tinker Bell and others she voiced characters with prominent voices. The small screen role of Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia failed to produce positive results. An appearance in the critically-acclaimed police drama Southland has helped her regain recognition as an established actress. Liu is extremely careful when selecting her roles, so she isn't a victim of stereotypes. Though she has embraced her roots she has not allowed it to restrict her artistic abilities.
